Muscling Bush

In a radio commentary the day after the election, I speculated that Barack Obama might go very silent over the coming days to ensure maximum drama for his arrival in power. I worried that such a policy of noncooperation might do harm to the national economy.

I was half-right, but half-wrong. Barack Obama is non-cooperating all right, but not silently. Instead, he is immediately muscling his way into power - and the Bush administration out the door. Not only is he signaling in advance which Bush actions will be overturned, but he is already signaling Congress how he'd like it to vote on current measures.

Barack Obama said at his first press conference that the US has only one president at a time. He didn't say who that president was ...
