Iran's Plan for a Summer Offensive in Iraq

The Guardian reports :

Iran is secretly forging ties with al-Qaida elements and Sunni Arab militias in Iraq in preparation for a summer showdown with coalition forces intended to tip a wavering US Congress into voting for full military withdrawal, US officials say. 

This is especially interesting in conjunction with the signs that Iranian-funded Hamas seems determined to provoke war with Israel this summer.  

The friend who forwarded the Guardian story sarcastically comments: 

No, no, it's impossible for Shi‘ite Iran to work with the Sunni jihadists. (Now can I work for the CIA?)
